Sweetgrass Braid

18" Sweetgrass Braid.
Braided Sweetgrass- hierochloe odorata. Sweetgrass grows in the Northeastern Wetlands of the United States and Canada. It has traditionally been harvested by the women of the Crow and Cree Nations. The grass is braided and then set out to dry. Legend says that each braid is a prayer that brings blessings.
Often Sweetgrass is cut up and burned in smudge as well as kept as the braid and burned
